We should look back 241 years to this nation's birthday to reflect on the scope of what exactly was birthed that day. What are we to do with what has been left to us? In reference to the first line of the Constitution, what are "We the People of the United States" to do with this government, this freedom, and this society? As Christians, however, our greater concern is what we the people of God are to do with this government, this freedom, and this society. We look into His Word to see His instruction, which is relevant for living under any government, in our freedom from God, in any society. In this passage, we see the right attitude toward government, the right use of freedom, and the right inclination toward society.
